Inspired by the iconic Miraculous Medal of Our Lady of Graces. The Virgin Mary stands with her arms open, inviting believers to seek comfort in her. She stands on the globe, representing her ascension into heaven, treading on the serpent that corrupted Eve. The rays emanating from her hands represent her graces.
Surrounding the image are the words “Ô Marie, conçue sans péché, priez pour nous qui avons recours à vous” which means: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."
A central ‘M’ decorates the back, symbolizing the words “Mary, Mother, Mediatrix.” The cross rising from its top represents the cross of Jesus’ redemption, and the 12 stars surrounding it are for the 12 apostles.
Under the M are 2 flaming hearts. The one on the left is crowned with thorns, representing Jesus; and the right is pierced by a sword, representing Mary. The flames emanating from both represent the love they have for all people.
