This men’s earring features a surgical-grade stainless steel padlock suspended from a classic flat-edged hoop. Its silver- and gold-tone coating is scratch and tarnish resistant, and gives this piece an unmistakable polished shine.

Among the most environmentally friendly surface treatments around, PVD coating involves no liquid spillage of toxic chemicals. It’s accomplished by superheating titanium nitride to its plasma state and binding it to the metal’s surface at the molecular level. Pretty hardcore, right?
