The black color on the surface of this men’s ring is accomplished using physical vapor deposition. PVD involves superheating titanium nitrate to its plasma state and shooting it onto the ring’s surface inside a vacuum chamber. Sounds awesome, right? The result is an ultra-thin ceramic layer that’s attached to the surface on the molecular level. It’s ultra durable, scratch resistant, will not flake, and is better for the environment than other plating or coating processes.
