Named for the Titans of ancient Greek myth, you might think titanium is as heavy as the lumbering giants of old, but it’s roughly half the weight of steel despite being much stronger. The gold tone on the Kash is accomplished using physical vapor deposition. PVD is a process where titanium nitride is super heated to a plasma that’s shot at the ring’s surface inside a vacuum chamber. Sounds awesome, right? This creates an ultra-thin ceramic layer that’s attached to the surface on the molecular level. Much tougher than traditional plating and better for the environment.
